Khushhali Microfinance Bank through its CSR program 'Drinking Water for Khushhali' aims to help our communities in accessing safe drinking water. Under this program, a number of initiatives have been taken to facilitate access to clean drinking water for the people in water stressed communities.
While many parts of Pakistan were gripped by extreme heat and unprecedented heat waves, access to drinking water was a challenge especially for communities living in the remote areas of Sindh and Punjab. In addition to water scarcity, water quality is another challenge being faced since the water available in some areas is brackish and require treatment before any consumption.
Khushhali Microfinance Bank Limited is striving to help our communities facing water scarcity in rural areas by installing hand pumps, solar pumps and filtration plants. In another initiative, KMBL has installed a solar powered water pump in village Kagia Chachro, District Tharparkar. The solar pump has been a great success and is providing drinking water to more than 400 people in this water stressed village of Tharparkar.
Through such initiatives, KMBL is making direct contributions to the Sustainable Development Goal #6, by facilitating equitable access to safe and affordable drinking water for all, through hand-pumps, filtration plants and water coolers.
