Drinking Water for the People of Dera Ghazi Khan

Availability and quality of drinking water is a huge concern for Pakistan. Not only the country is suffering from a severe shortage of drinking water, there is a growing concern over the quality of drinking water available for domestic use. The situation is further aggravated by heat waves and droughts driven by climate change.
With an ambition to provide safe drinking water to the underprivileged communities, KMBL has initiated a CSR Program ‘Drinking Water for Khushhali’. Under this program, KMBL installed water coolers with filters at different schools, hospitals and public places. The goal behind this initiative is to facilitate access to clean drinking water during the severe heat waves for the people especially elders, children and patients.
Through such initiatives, KMBL is making direct contributions to the Sustainable Development Goal #6, by facilitating equitable access to safe and affordable drinking water for all, through hand-pumps, filtration plants and water coolers.
