The Annual event, arranged by Citi Foundation and PPAF attended by a large number of people from all walks of life, aims at highlighting the performance of Microfinance sector and appreciating the work of borrowers who are able to bring a significant change to their lives after receiving microfinance loans, serving as a role model for others in their respective communities.
While addressing the audience, Minister of State for Federal Education, Professional Training, Interior and Narcotics Control, Mr. Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman, stressed upon the need for continuity in policies of organizations apart from honesty and integrity in order to achieve the desired goals.
“The Economic Intelligence Unit has given high ranking to the microfinance sector of Pakistan”. He emphasized on the importance of Microfinance sector in financial inclusion, which eventually helps in socio- economic development. “The government is giving high priority to bring Pakistan to first ten economically stable economies” said the Minister.
Sher Jan, Khushhali Microfinance Bank’s client and his loan officer, Azizullah from Balochistan won the Citi PPAF award in the regional category. The award winner acknowledged Khushhali Microfinance Bank’s financial support and business counseling through which he is now an inspiration for people in his community.
Speaking about the occasion, Ghalib Nishtar, President Khushhali Microfinance Bank said “Khushhali Microfinance Bank supports the spirit of entrepreneurship and such awards add value to the lives of the poor entrepreneurs and encourage them to do more to improve their livelihood”.
