Inspiring the women of Mirpurkhas to develop livelihood skills and start their own businesses, Khushhali Microfinance Bank Limited (KMBL) in collaboration with Sindh Graduates Association (SGA) started a skill development program. Participants of the training program will be provided a complete tailoring course and will be enabled to earn sustainable livelihoods to support their families.
In addition to the inauguration ceremony, Khushhali organized a session on financial literacy for the participants as well. Main objective of this session was to impart knowledge and understanding of financial concepts, banking/financial products and services, develop skills and attitudes towards budgeting, savings, investment, debt management, financial negotiation, rights and obligations.
Skill based training programs are a progressive step towards empowering underprivileged women to be independent and generate sufficient incomes to support their families. Through these series of training programs, KMBL is making direct contribution to United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals #4 and #8, by substantially increasing the number of youth and adults who have relevant skills, including technical and vocational skills, for employment, decent jobs and entrepreneurship.
