Staying true to KMBL values of preserving the natural environment, Khushhali Microfinance Bank has taken the initiative of the planting and maintaining 6,000 plants at Changa Manga, near Lahore. This initiative has been taken in partnership with the Punjab Forest department.
The tree plantation drive, that covers 8.5 acres, will entail plantation of approximately 800 trees per acre, equaling a total of 6,000 trees to help afforestation in the area. The plantation drive has been carried out by the bank’s staff from its branches in Lahore, Kasur, Pattoki and adjacent areas who have volunteered for the tree plantation activity. As part of the drive, Khushhali Bank will be responsible to finance the administration of Changa Manga over a period of 5 years.
The idea is to promote biodiversity and ecological balance of the area depends by working on such afforestation event. Considering the current city situation of air pollution and overall environment, the need for afforestation in the area has been of dire need for which KMBL took the initiative.
