Muhammad Aftab Alam is Group Head and Chief Business Officer at Khushhali Microfinance Bank Limited, where he oversees the institution’s nationwide commercial operations, business strategy, and digital expansion. In this capacity, he holds full operational and balance sheet responsibility for the bank’s core business lines, leading nationwide branch operations, commercial distribution, and client coverage.
With a career spanning over two decades in retail banking and commercial operations, Mr. Alam has consistently driven large-scale growth strategies, institutional turnarounds, and nationwide business expansion. His executive remit covers retail lending, consumer and corporate deposits, digital banking, alternative delivery channels (ADC), brand strategy, and product development. His core expertise in financial management, P&L optimization, balance sheet restructuring, and financial modeling underpins his track record as a strategic business leader.
Beyond his executive responsibilities, Mr. Alam actively contributes to financial sector policy and industry governance. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Pakistan Microfinance Review (PMR-PMN) and collaborates with the State Bank of Pakistan on regulatory working groups focused on financial inclusion, housing, and digital innovation. He holds an MBA in Finance and has completed executive development programs at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and the Boulder Institute of Microfinance.
